Thanks IFI for the free preview of Richard Linklater's latest directorial effort last night, it was the perfect antidote to a wet November Monday. The actor who portrayed Orson Welles (and quite well I may add) Christian McKay even stopped in for a quick chat about his research and a Q&A (with just one question as he pointed out, but this was mainly due to his stories being quite interesting and well told).
The film itself was equally as enjoyable and dealt with a young Orson Welles' stage production of Julius Caesar as told from the perspective of Zac Efron's character. The film had the right balance of nostalgia and humour, and a very good cast with the two above, Claire Danes, Ben Chaplin, Zoe Kazan, Eddie Marsan, Kelly Reilly and James Tupper.
